Our students compete in many events outside the school and we are very proud of their achievements. We would also like to provide opportunities for friendly competition within the school. The House System provides a simple framework for such competition.
When students come in at Year 8 they are allocated to one of the four houses. This is mostly random but siblings usually get allocated to the same house. During the year there are many sporting competitions and these are run and organised by the PE department. They include Cross-Country, Hockey, Netball, Rugby, Football, Softball and Athletics. There are also special events and in the past these have included Swimming Galas, Quizzes, Easter Basket competitions, Pop Act (musical talent contest), Chess, Video Game contests and the Charity Fun Day!Information on house events can be found on your house notice boards in the pupil’s entrance and current points can be found on the school intranet.
Work hard for your house and have belief in yourself and your team-mates. Encourage those who do the things that you can’t and try hard when it is your turn to show what you can do. Don’t wait to be asked! Look out for opportunities to gain house points and to help team-mates to gain house points. Little things can make all the difference……..GOOD LUCK!A. Ross
