School Council

Welcome to a new year in the life of your School Council.

The School Council worked very hard last year and, in order to retain the experience and knowledge its members gained throughout the year, it is going to keep its KS4 and Y13 members. New members will come in for Years 9 and 10.

With the election taking place on Monday 28th September, we saw a selection of keen candidates who introduced themselves to their year group as good potential council members. On Monday, Y9 and Y10 pupils cast their vote and did so very keenly and professionally.

We can now announce the names of the newly elected School Council members, and congratulate them :
Year 9: Sara Patterson and James Shields
Year 10: Noeleen Gamble and Lucas Gregory

Consequently, this year’s School Council members are :

Y9 Sara Patterson and James Shields
Y10 Noeleen Gamble and Lucas Gregory
Y11 Lyndsey Reid and Richard Hood
Y12 Hester Gingles and Ryan Hamilton
Y13 Rosie Hay and Chris Lindsay
Y14 Jessica Black and Steven Gordon

Congratulations to all members and we hope that you will continue to be a good and effective voice for all pupils in general, and your year group in particular.

The School Council is actively working on a number of issues, one of them being an 'acceptable make-up rule for girls'.

Remember to approach your School Council representative if you have any idea or suggestion which you think could benefit your time in school.

The Eco-Committee

The eco committee continued its hard work towards attaining the Green Flag.
They achieved the Silver status towards the end of last year and, this year, kept on pushing towards completion by May of all work pertaining to the Green Flag award.
As a result, assessors visited the school in May this year and did award the Green Flag to our school. They were very impressed by all the work carried out by our eco committee!

We are delighted to see the flag flying at the front of the school.

find out what else they have been up to...
