Scripture Union is an international mission movement that was founded over 140 years ago. SU works in over 120 countries making God's good news known to children, young people and families and encouraging people of all ages to meet God daily through the Bible and prayer.

Our goal: That all may come to a personal faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, grow in Christian maturity and become both committed church members and servants of a world in need.

SU Band logo
This year has saw a big improvement made to our very own SU band. Headed up by the Band's Teacher in Charge Mrs Logan, the band meet on a Tuesday after school from 3:30-4:30.

Before they start to build their even growing repertoire, they take time to worship God and to pray thanks for the amazing gifts of talent that God has given them. They perform at the school's annual Harvest Service and Easter Assembly.

This year in SU we have focused mainly on Prayer and the Fruits of the Spirit as the committee decided that it was time to change things up a little.

In previous years the 'SU Weekend' has been held usually on the last weekend before Christmas break, but this year we started off our year as an SU with our weekend in September with the main focus to bring our SU together as brothers and sisters in Christ and to introduce new SU-ers into our family. Our speaker for the Weekend was David Murphy, Crown Jesus Ministries' youth co-ordinator. His talks were focused on studying the Fruits of the Spirit and how they have an impact on our lives and how we can have an influence on others by using them.

Prayer was another key fundamental of the Christian faith that was focused on and many prayer stations were set up around Castlewellan Castle for campers to spend time with God. Of course the weekend was packed with other fun activities such as our annual quiz, maze run and walk around the lake.
